This session explores how organisations can respond to ageing workforces, skills shortages, and accelerating change without defaulting to replacement, redundancy, or extraction of experience. Drawing on New Zealand–based research and Māori models of reciprocal learning, it introduces Tuakana/Teina as a future-ready workforce design pattern — not a mentoring programme. 

Learning Outcomes
- Reframe ageing workforce challenges as a design     problem, not a performance or capability issue
- Understand why relevance, engagement and productivity fail in traditional workforce models — particularly for older workers
- Apply four Future of Work lenses to ageing, skills, technology and knowledge transfer
- See Tuakana/Teina as a mechanism for:

"We commissioned a nationwide survey into the workplace experiences of over 600 young women and non-binary workers aged 20-30 (Gen Z) in Aotearoa New Zealand, asking what they need to succeed, and what they think should be changed"
The toolkit will offer organisations with evidence-based strategies and practical steps to create inclusive workplace culture cultures to attract, retain, and nurture diverse young talent.
